After graduating from Bradley University, I hopped on a plane and landed at LAX. I found myself working in an office, managing a small office. I loved the experience, but I knew I was missing what I truly loved to do: working with kids and young adults with developmental disabilities. After a few years, I came home and worked at a residential facility in Highland Park. We focused on vocational and occupational awareness and appropriate behavior in the community. From the ice skating rink, to the local restaurants, the residents showed tremendous strides, and I finally felt “at home” again. Working with kids today I look forward to learning, growing and developing new skill sets with each individual I work with and I look forward to see their developmental growth.
